In modern society, traditional patriarchy is still influencing Chinese parents. They tend to make almost all decisions for their children, from choosing schools to picking up a profession.Sometimes even many detailed things such as clothing and diets have to be decided by parents.
However, deciding everything for children does not help them but harm them in many ways. On the one hand, it will make children lack independence and initiative, which is unfavorable to their development in the long run. On the other hand, in many cases, parents' decisions are not always in accordance with their children's personal ideas and interest. It will make children form resistance and naturally influence their growth.
From my point of view, it is unwise for parents to male every decision for their children. It's obvious that parents cannot accompany their children all the time. Growing to be independent is the natural way for everybody. Therefore, parents should give their children rights to make their own decisions. They can help their children but not replace them to make choices.

Job hunting has always been a headache for college students. Though many graduates are employed right after graduation, some are not. Most serious of all, some still have no idea where to go working even a long time after graduation.
The reasons for this phenomenon are various. On the one hand, a few years ago colleges and universities enrolled so many students in popular majors, such as economy, finance and so on that the number of graduates was greater than the need in the market. On the other hand, most graduates would rather stay in large cities without suitable job to do than go to the country.
I reckon this problem can be solved if both colleges and students take measures. First, they should research the market and develop special skills to suit its need. Second, students’ attitude towards employment should be changed. They should go to small cities and country. There they can also give full play to their professional knowledge. In a word, if we pay much attention, the situation can be improved.

For our university's arts festival, I think that the university should hold open competitionsand auditions for anyone who wants to take part in the festival's exhibitions and performances.This would not only increase general interest in and appreciation for the arts, but would alsobe a good way for our university to show its support for the arts.
This arts festival is an excellent opportunity to remind everyone that arts are important foreveryone to appreciate and take part in, regardless of major.
I think that there should be general, open auditions and competitions in all the major arts.There should be categories for painting and sculpture; classical, folk and modem dance; andinstrumental and choral groups, both large and small. The judges should be joint committeesmade up of both faculty and Students, both experts in the field and novices. Arranging thefestival in this way will, I believe, give our student body a greater enjoyment of the arts, a breakfrom studies and a fuller appreciation for what it means to be human.
