職場(chǎng)英語(yǔ):回復(fù)Email常用技巧
我們平時(shí)進(jìn)行商務(wù)交流時(shí)，時(shí)常需要回復(fù)客戶的郵件，但你是不是總是用reply的功能呢？這在外國(guó)客戶看來(lái)可能不太妥當(dāng)哦。來(lái)看看下面這段對(duì)話吧。
C：Amy,我找了你一整天。
A：Whatis it?
C：我有個(gè)關(guān)于電子郵件的問(wèn)題。每次我回信，都是點(diǎn)擊Reply,保留原來(lái)的內(nèi)容，然后把我的答復(fù)加上去。
A：That’s not unusual。
C：今天有個(gè)同事告訴我，說(shuō)我不應(yīng)該保留電子郵件里原來(lái)的內(nèi)容。可我不明白，如果刪掉原來(lái)的內(nèi)容，她怎么能知道我在說(shuō)些什么呢？
A：Sheno doubt would have preferred that you take the time to paraphraseher message in the body of your reply。
C：什么叫paraphrase啊？
A：Toparaphrase means to rephrase or restate what someone else has saidor written。
C：你能舉個(gè)例子嗎？比如說(shuō)，她發(fā)電子郵件給我，問(wèn)我星期三上午11點(diǎn)有沒(méi)有時(shí)間開(kāi)會(huì)討論新產(chǎn)品。
A：Inthat case, instead of hitting "Reply" and responding, "Yes, I amavailable;" you should write, "Yes, I am available to meet onWednesday at 11 AM to discuss the new product."
C：就是把話說(shuō)完整。
A：Yes.By restating her message, you have confirmed that you will be atthe meeting on the right day at the right time。
C：出于禮貌，我在回復(fù)電子郵件的時(shí)候，都應(yīng)該把原信的核心內(nèi)容重復(fù)一遍了？
A：Yes,In that case you can delete the original at the bottom of yourresponse。
C：如果電子郵件的內(nèi)容變了，用回復(fù)的功能，就不能保留原來(lái)的題目。是這樣嗎？
A：Sheis definitely right. It is very confusing to receive a message fromsomeone who changed the subject in the e-mail and not in thesubject line。
C：你能不能解釋一下。
A：If Isend you a message about a project we are working on and I use"Project A Summary" as the subject line, you have a clearexpectation about what information is contained in thee-mail。
C：我用回復(fù)的功能，告訴你我收到了報(bào)告。
A：Right. Now let’s say that I need to send you a messageabout our next team meeting. If I use your reply to me - which yourecall has the subject line, "Project Summary"; you expect to readmore about the project。
C：對(duì)啊，我會(huì)以為里面是關(guān)于這個(gè)項(xiàng)目更詳細(xì)的內(nèi)容，但打開(kāi)卻發(fā)現(xiàn)是截然不同的內(nèi)容。好，我以后一定記住改掉電子郵件的題目。
A：Better yet, if you are sending e-mail on a new topic, starta new message with a new subject header。
